Each bar of soap is lovingly handcrafted. Our soaps are made using a centuries old process called ‘cold process soap making’. We mix the oils and camel milk with a saponifying agent. When the mixture has begun to saponify, we stir in only the finest essential oils and then pour into moulds. The moulded soaps are each handcut into individual bars and left to cure for 5-6 weeks.

Why Olive Oil and Camel Milk

Milk has long been a revered cosmetic ingredient. Cleopatra was renowned for her milk based baths to preserve her natural beauty. Milk based beauty products have traditionally been used for sensitive skin and baby skin.

Chemically milk is a lipoprotein, one of a class of proteins found in combination with lipids. A lipid is an organic substance insoluble in water and usually greasy to the touch, that is a fat. Lipids, which are found in most skin creams in the form of waxes, animal or vegetable oils, help seal moisture in when applied to the skin. Milk is unique in its natural ability to moisturize, nourish and retain goodness in your skin.

Many cosmetic companies today include milk in a variety of skin-care related products. The soothing and moisturizing qualities of milk have made it an increasingly popular ingredient in commercial soaps. But milk is a fragile miracle of nature that cannot synthetically be reproduced and its properties can be destroyed by improper handling.

The Bedouin have known of the curative powers of camel's milk for thousands of years. The Bedouin traditionally used camel fat and milk to protect themselves from the sun. Scientific studies in the Middle East and Europe have proven its unusual medicinal properties and confirmed its healing benefits to mankind. Camel milk contains vital immune properties and is a natural source of alpha-hydroxy acids for softening the skin, keeping it supple, smooth and preventing wrinkles.

Camel milk has been found to have wonderful cosmetic benefits. Researchers say that the benefit for skin lies in the ingredient's vitamin B, C and iron content. Some say that camel milk possesses 10 times more iron than cow's milk. The milk contains lanolin and other moisturizing properties providing a calming and soothing effect on the skin.
