Cineworks Independent Filmmakers Society is a non-profit organization and film production and exhibition centre that supports independent filmmakers and media artists through initiatives that foster dialogue and experimentation with cinematic practices.

In addition to our main Howe St. location, Cineworks runs an analogue filmmaking studio in the Railtown area called the Cineworks Annex. This analogue annex is an open studio space, focusing on optical printing, film processing/printing, animation, installation, exhibition and mixed media.

Cineworks has an active membership of over 200 filmmakers who are involved in a variety of aspects of independent filmmaking on an ongoing basis. Cineworks was incorporated as a non-profit society in 1980, and in 1983 was recognized as a charitable organization by Revenue Canada.
